Carolyn's Play House, a popular licensed group family day care center on Manhattan's Upper West Side, is moving to Jackson Avenue in Hunter's Point, Long Island City, NY, less than a block from the Vernon-Jackson stop on the 7 train, 3 minutes from Grand Central Station. Enrollment is in progress for opening date of September 5, 2006. An Open House will be announced soon! Carolyn's Play House is a stimulating arts-enriched, learning-and-play program for young children (12 months thru 3 years at enrollment). Open 8:30 to 5:30, you can choose various combinations of early, late and full-day schedules (see Hours for details). Director and Head Teacher Carolyn Marx Fletcher (M.S. Early Childhood Education, Bank Street College; M.A. Creative Arts, Hunter College) provides an in-home, mixed-age learning experience for your children. with an excellent child-teacher ratio (maximum 7 children at a time with two staff teachers, often supplemented with volunteer interns from local educational programs). Curriculum is tailored to developmental needs and interests of the particular children in a group. Starting
in November 2006, after-school art classes for school-age children will also be
offered.
